  We had a great cookout at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Paducah on June 9th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.  We had 25 members, volunteers, and guests.  All enjoyed hamburgers with all the fixin’s and topped it off with home-made ice cream.  Entertainment was provided by Tom & Anita Vance.                    ...

  Our volunteer training was held on April 21st at Lone Oak Fire Station #3 and Celia Gutfreund from the  Purchase Area Development District was our speaker.  She spoke on recognizing elder abuse.  She is a Long-Term Care Ombudsman for our area.  She did a very good job.      ...

March Luncheon

   We had 22 members, volunteers, and guests attend our March luncheon at Outback Steakhouse.  We want to give a special thanks to Outback Steakhouse and Keith Williams for treating us to a free lunch this month.  Rob and Christy Caturano from the Orthopedic Institute spoke to us about fall prevention.  Elizabeth Fields with WPSD interviewed one of our members and one of our volunteers and featured it on the news at 10.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the luncheon and said the food was great.  We look forward to our next monthly luncheon with will...

Our Launch Luncheon was a success

   Our Launch Luncheon was held at the Pork Peddler in Paducah on Wednesday, February 4th, and everyone enjoyed the program and the food.  Paducah Mayor Kaler and McCracken County Judge Executive Bob Leeper addressed the need for our organization and it’s impact in McCracken County.  All five of our members were present and recognized along with our board of directors and our volunteers.  Carol gave an update on our status. Volunteer Training/Meeting

Our Volunteer Training meeting was held on November 13th at the Knights of Columbus Post on Jefferson Street.  We had 12 volunteers attend, two of them were new which was very exciting.  We reviewed the Volunteer Handbook and had a refresher class on First Aid/CPR.  We shared a light lunch which was prepared by Brenda Burrow.  It was delicious.  We discussed the current status of Made to Stay and we are very encouraged and believe we will be ready to take members by January 1, although that is not official.  We still need to raise the funds...

  We had our Volunteer Kick-Off on Thursday, August 28 and we were very excited.  We had 5 Volunteer applications turned in and that is a great start.  Volunteers signed up to begin helping us now to get the word out to the community that Made to Stay is here and to make connections with other community organizations and businesses.
